Jessie Varner, Sales Associate
Jessie was born and raised in Louisville (Jefferson County) Kentucky. He is the oldest of ten children. He is married and has six children, seventeen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Jessie got his first tax paying job at fourteen, bagging groceries at Kroger. Going into the United States Army at age seventeen was Jessie’s start of service to mankind. During the six and a half years he served in Viet Nam, Thailand, Korea, and various bases in the US. This service gave Jessie a prospective of life from many angles. After the military, Jessie worked for the state of Kentucky for four years before going to the United States Postal Service. He rose from mail handler in Louisville to postmaster in Park City (Barren County), where he retired after thirty-one and a half years. Jessie worked for Job Corps for six years; went to Western Kentucky University, obtained an associate and bachelor’s degrees. With this, he taught as a substitute teacher in Edmonson and Warren County school systems for nine years and then spent three years in the Warren County Sheriff’s as Court Security Officer.
Jessie’s activities, while working included some success in business: Varner’s Tax Services (1979-1999), and J&DV’S Mobile Notary Services (2013-present). Jessie was a community volunteer youth basketball coach for six years, a city commissioner (Smiths Grove) for twelve years, and currently a member of the BRADD Council for Aging, a member of Warren County Code Enforcement Board, a member of the Smiths Grove Lions Club, a member of the Brownsville VFW, and a member of Oakland Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Jessie brings a wealth of diverse people skills to the industry of real estate.
